General Questions
What is Yelken?
Yelken can be described as a Secure by Design, Extendable, and Speedy Next-Generation Content Management System (CMS).
                  Yelken is a traditional CMS where you can both manage your contents (backend) and present them to your users (frontend).
Literary, Yelken is a Turkish noun that means sail in English (check out TDK for its pronunciation).
Can I quickly try Yelken?
Yes, there is an easy way to try the Yelken without mastering the inner details. You can open our Playground to start experimenting with Yelken within a few seconds. In this Playground, Yelken completely runs in your browser and only visible to you. There is a few control buttons at the top of the playground that allows you to easily navigate in the playground.
Pricing & Plans
How much does Yelken cost?
Simply, Yelken is free for everyone to use. Its source code is available on GitHub and anyone can deploy Yelken freely to any infrastructure to manage their website.
 
Yelken also has a Cloud service to remove the deployment burden from you. In Cloud, all the required infrastructure is managed by us. This service is currently under development and there is an Open Alpha testing period in which you can try it without any cost till 15 November 2025.

Am I allowed to use Yelken for any kind of use?
Yelken employs Business Source License 1.1 to sustain its development. In summary, any individual can freely use Yelken or provide support for setting up Yelken on production. However, Yelken cannot be used for providing Software as a Service (SaaS), which would compete with our Cloud service, unless a license is granted.

What are the key features of Yelken?
Yelken has localization as a built-in feature, an advanced permission system, theme support and powerful templating system, and structured content management.
                  Yelken also is not constrained with these features and can be extended with additional plugins.
Beside these features, Yelken has many ambitious goals described in its definition: Secure by Design, Extendable, and Speedy Next-Generation Content Management System (CMS).
