Frequently Asked Questions
Yelken calculates cost of a resource, you have created, for the amount of seconds it has run. Imagine that you have created a website with a $5/month plan and deleted it after running for exactly 12 hours. The $5/month plan has a cost of $0.000002067 per second. Consequently, with 12 hours run, you will be billed for $0.09 for this website at the end of the month.
Yelken rounds up the running seconds to obtain an integer number. Additionally, Yelken assumes that there are 28 days in a month, with each day consisting of 24 hours. By dividing the monthly price of a resource by 2419200 seconds (28 days x 24 hours x 60 minutes x 60 seconds = 2419200 seconds), cost per second is calculated.
When you create a new project or a service in a project, there is no additional charge for the service other than the cost stated in the plan.
For web applications with a volume included in the plan, the volume attached to them does not have any cost until you delete web application. However, when you delete the web application, volume still continues to exist and will start having a cost. To reduce the cost, you can remove the volume if you do not need it anymore.
The discount specified for a plan applies to the all projects you created with that plan. For example, if the WordPress Basic plan offers a 50% discount, all projects you create during the discount's effective period will receive it. Once you create a project with a discount, it will be valid for the duration specified, such as 3 months. When the discount specified in your project's plan ends, you will be billed at the normal prices.
Please note that Yelken can change discount rates at any time without notifying you, and any new project created after the change will have the new discount or none at all.
No, you don't need to provide a credit card during registration. However, for automatic payment to happen, you must have a credit card saved in the system when you are billed for your usage, which happens at the end of the month. This is not required if you have enough credit in your account.
Yes, you can upgrade your service's plan if a higher plan is available for your service.
For services that run container workloads, yes you can downgrade the plan. For services that run a web application, unfortunately, it is currently not possible for you to downgrade your web application's plan. Since the storage size of a web application cannot be shrunk, Yelken does not allow downgrading. However, it is planned to alleviate this limitation in the future.
